Power In Your Words

February 17, 2013

LightningThe other day at my school, my writing teacher was teaching about Martin Luther King Jr. She spoke about how he used powerful words all through out his “I Have a Dream” speech. I thought more about this and realized that words are just as powerful as guns.
Walking down the hallway at the school you hear strong uses of words, some that seem to shoot at people like arrows. Sometimes a gun can cause just as much damage as words do.
Our words could take down nations, or build the people of this world back up. If we could learn to use our words in a positive way. Then maybe there wouldn’t be so much pain in the world.
I challenge you to try to use your words in a way that they don’t hurt like bullets.
