The Reasons I Have Not Blogged and Other Tales

May 12, 2014

So, I haven’t wrote in a while, and I kind of gave you false hope that I would write last Tuesday… So I’m trying to make up for it.
One of the reasons I have not blogged is because of this dreaded thing called “Dance Recital,” but really it should be called something a little harsher, such as: “The Multiple Hours of My Life that I Will Never Get Back.”
To paint this little reality for you, I think the dressing rooms are more crowded than the pits of hell. Not to mention it smells like guy’s B.O. But there are only girls in there. It’s nasty. (And yet people eat down there. Yuck.)
But I must say I really enjoyed my Pointe 1 dance this year. It was based off of the one and only Audrey Hepburn and her very iconic movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s( which I had never watched until a month after I found out what we were dancing to).

Anyways, one of my dear friends wants to be Audrey Hepburn, and she knows strange trivia about her, so on May 4th, one of the first things she says to me is, “Today is Audrey Hepburn’s birthday!”
This was pretty cool because it was the last night of performances, so we all danced our hearts out for Audrey’s birthday.

(That’s my feet by the way.)

That is the end of my dance recital fun story.
I have something else to talk about:
For sophomore year, I plan on taking Pre- AP English 10, and with this comes the “Summer Reading Requirement.” I get to choose between two books and write a “thorough, thoughtful, original, and accurate” literary analysis essay. My two choices are as follows:
1.) The Old Man and The Sea by Ernest Hemingway
2.) The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd
I have heard good and bad about both, and I was wondering what you all thought about these two books. Help me choose!!!!

Again, this has nothing to do with the post… Sorry?
